As a safety professional, I have been responsible for BBS programs for over twelve years and I have seen many approaches to "doing" BBS. Removing Obstacles to Safety, A Behavior-Based Approach is a clear, logical approach and shows how BBS should be done and the science behind it. Behavioral science can be an effective tool in a safety management system when done correctly. Agnew and Snyder make a strong case that addressing behavior is a critical part of any safety system.

Harder to follow than others I have read.

I really like easy reading and clear explanations of scientific concepts of BBS, I have been studying those concepts since 2007 and this was the first books that clarify all my question. Great Material!!!

This is a great book for BBS basics. While BBS is not new to me, I found some refreshing motivation inside that brought me back from a point where I was just counting incidents instead of engaging people. Good book.

the stats, or as the book refers to them, Did You Know? are excellent and gets one thinking. This book contains all positive reinforcement.

Another book on manipulating people instead of fixing systems and processes continuing the tired act of behavior based "pop-psychologists" trying to blame people for accidents.

Very rich description and in-depth discussion of Mary's encounter with the angel Gabriel and her cousin Elizabeth. I'm a lifelong protestant but I was taken aback at the great detail and connections to all of scripture through Luke's account. Well worth the read, I took my time and did a chapter a day for a while.

Some people look at how "little" is said about Mary in scripture and conclude that Mary must have a small role... if any at all. Dr. Sri helps me see that the Blessed Mother in the New Testament is like a stained glass window or a mosaic. Perhaps the mosaic or the window is small, but lovers of art will want to "look closer."Sri does an admirable job with this task.He shows me that within each "piece" of the art in relation to the Mother of God, the Gospel writers - with every word - are begging you to stop and look closely at the Blessed Mother.Again, just as an artist takes time in carefully placing the mosaic together, so too will Sri help you see that each line in regarding to Mary is positioned within a whole: that is, not only according to the whole of the Gospel, but also according to the "whole" of the bible... and truly according to the "whole" of Creation... truly in a "kata" + "holos" way. This new entry in the New Studies in Biblical Theology (NSBT) series on death and what follows by Paul R. Williamson is a sane voice on one of the more explosive theological issues of our day. It lives up to the standards set by previous volumes in this series edited by D. A. Carson. It’s obvious that the author expended the necessary energy to make this volume a meaningful contribution. In fact, I suspect for most of us this will be the first book we will reach for what we are considering “biblical perspectives on ultimate questions”.The first chapter surveys the issue both in the present with all the requisite statistics and ancient viewpoints of various peoples in the ANE. The chapter concludes with the viewpoint of Christianity and on page 22 formulates five key concepts on what he calls “the personal eschatology of Scripture”. While we Christians might debate certain elements of those five key concepts, there’s no doubt he has set the parameters of this issue correctly.The next chapter discusses death itself. That requires a deep look into biblical anthropology as well as defining the soul. You will start seeing in this chapter what you will enjoy throughout the whole book: he masterfully marshals the appropriate Scriptures, exegetes them carefully, and draws out appropriate theology. He dodges nothing. Even tough subjects like Saul consulting a witch to bring up Samuel is analyzed. Chapter 3 looks into the resurrection. As that doctrine is key to Christianity itself, he is thorough in looking at it from every vantage point.Chapter 4 considers judgment. It was in this chapter that I had some disagreement with him because I hold to a pre-millennial viewpoint of prophecy. At times I thought the pre-millennial system would easily remove a few jams he became entangled in with Scripture exegesis. Still, I appreciated the spirit with which he would often mention how premillennialists would look at the situation, and how he was gracious when he disagreed.Chapter 5 looks at the widely debated subject of Hell. He did a great job discussing the debate as it stands today, what had been believed in the past, and how to think about the issue today. While I might take a few things mentioned in Scripture more literally than he does, he doesn’t dodge that the Bible says a great deal about that unpleasant subject. The final chapter looks at Heaven. Heaven has been recast in modern days as this wonderful place that everyone is going to, so he takes this past our self-produced fictions of heaven to see what the Bible actually has to say. Again, he helps us look at all the appropriate Scriptures.This book is at once helpful and important. It’s the perfect book to get your bearings straight on a theological subject that usually has more heat than light applied to it.I received this book free from the publisher. Not at all impressed.Seems to want to waffle between scholarly acceptance and Biblical adherence.As a result the book flow is disjointed and a little like trying to nail jello to a tree.Kind of like grabbing a jelly donut anticipating the flavor and finding out there is not jelly in the donut!Put it away after reading first half.

The question of what the Bible teaches about death, the afterlife, and resurrection has been something I have studied quite a bit. So when I saw Paul Williamson’s new book Death And The Afterlife: Biblical Perspectives On Ultimate Questions, I was eager to dive into such a pertinent topic. Williamson’s book is primarily exegetical not philosophical.  Though this book did mention some of the issues that were mentioned in John Cooper’s work Body, Soul & Life Everlasting: Biblical Anthropology and the Monism–Dualism Debate, the last book I read that attempted to weave together exegetical theology and philosophical theology was Stephen Davis's book Risen Indeed. Davis openly admitted his expertise is philosophy. Williamson’s strength is his exegetical training. Anyone who has read N.T. Wright’s Resurrection of the Son of God and has keep up with the literature knows there has been a variety of positions that have been debated for quite some time such as the nature of eternal punishment, annihilationism, and other issues. Williamson argues that these topics are the “ key”  issues in the current debate as well as the topic of “works” at the final judgment. Scholars come to different conclusions. Even though Williamson argues for an intermediate state,one of the strengths of Williamson’s book is that he traces the variety of views of the afterlife in both Greco Roman, ANE, Mesopotamian, and Intertestamental literature. When we take this approach, we see that Jewish texts can go in different directions. Some teach temporary disembodiment, while others teach annihilationism.In chapter 6, which is called “ Heaven- the Ultimate Destination”?” Williamson gives a detailed description of the new heavens, new earth. So when someone asks,  ‘Is heaven the ultimate destination?’  Williamson  says “ we would have to say, it depends; it depends on where you mean by heaven; but more importantly, it depends on who you think will go there” (pg 192).But just as Wright has already stressed, resurrection is  when we receive our  new resurrected bodies and we are dwelling on the new heavens and new earth.  As Williamson says:“Understood in terms of our eschatological re-embodiment, resurrection is indeed the ultimate makeover – not in the sense of being recreated from scratch, but in the sense of being suitably transformed for the age to come; resurrection, in its eschatological sense,96 involves more than reconstruction or reanimation; that is, it is more than mere resuscitation or even re-embodiment. While both these are implicitly involved, it is clear that, for Christians at least, there will also be significant improvement. For, as Paul observes, ‘the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality . . . [and] then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory” ’ (1 Cor. 15:53–54).”- pg 94.Here we see Williamson links the resurrection topic with eschatology. After all, they can't be separated. As he rightly says, the key concepts in the personal eschatology of Scripture are:1. A disembodied existence in an interim state between an individual’s death and his/her future resurrection. 2. The bodily resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked at the time of the parousia (the second coming of the Lord Jesus). 3. A final judgment of both the living and the dead (every human being who has ever lived), according to what they have done during their earthly lives. 4. The never-ending punishment of conscious torment in hell for those who are condemned at the last judgment. 5. The everlasting reward of an immortal life with God for those who have been sanctified and perfected through faith in Jesus (pg, 22).Overall, I would consider this book to be more of a systematic overview of death and the afterlife. I enjoyed the book and consider it a fine addition to anyone’s bibliography on the resurrection.

Sadly, he skirts around the subject of eternal punishment, with it could be this and there again it might be that. Very indecisive and inconclusive.Most people want the truth about the nature of Hell. Is it eternal, conditional, more about traditional concepts as opposed to Scripture?He creates a lot of uncertainty in verses that require a more literal take. His 'fudge' approach didn't work for me.

My background includes calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, and other applied mathematics, but I have not had a course in real analysis. W. A. Sutherland intended this text as the next step after analysis.After a brief foray, I retreated, placed Sutherland back on my bookshelf, and attacked some marginally easier introductory texts: Metric Spaces by Victor Bryant, Introduction to Topology by Bert Mendelson, and most recently, several chapters in Introduction to Analysis by Maxwell Rosenlicht. I periodically return to W. A. Sutherland's text to measure my understanding. I am now working on chapter five, Compact Spaces.I doubt that Introduction to Metric and Topological Spaces would be foreboding to students that are familiar with real analysis. Sutherland understands that the abstractness and generalization can be difficult and shows concern with motivating the student. He repeatedly attempts to illustrate the value of generalization, especially in the study of continuity.Sutherland often uses a lengthy series of examples of increasing difficulty to illustrate abstract concepts. In his discussion of metric spaces, we begin with Euclidian n-space metrics, and move on to discrete metric spaces, function spaces, and even Hilbert sequence spaces. He introduces open sets and topological spaces in a similar fashion.The author occasionally suggests that the student might wish to make a geometrical diagram to help clarify some subtle point, but Sutherland includes few geometrical drawings in his text. His focus is clearly on proofs using the axioms of metric spaces and topological spaces.Sutherland highlights sections that either require more knowledge of abstract algebra, or for other reasons are thought to be more severe.Despite Sutherland's use of Introduction in the title, I suggest that any reader considering independent study might defer tackling Introduction to Metric and Topological Spaces until after completing a more basic text. Possibly a better title might be A Second Introduction to Metric and Topological Spaces.

I enjoyed reading this book because of its clarity, conciseness, and nice way of relating topological and metric spaces. This book is ideal for the student who is learning about these subjects for the first time, whether or not they intend to do more advanced work on the subject. The reader who wants to go on and learn about more advanced topics, should consult Munkres's book.

A lot of books on topology assume some basic knowledge of real analysis, which can throw a lot of readers off. This book starts from the very beginning, and thus is truly a great introduction. Each section has some good exercises, with even a few pointers at the back of the book for the more challenging ones. It starts with topological aspects, and then refers to them in the case of metric spaces (amongst many others), which is a much better approach than most other books, as the reader doesn't take the details of the specific to the general. A great little book, which is a must for most advanced maths Analysis courses.

I absolutely LOVE Indian food, so I had to get this book. Now I already know how to make some staple Indian dishes, but I'm always looking for new recipes and this book is full of meals I can't wait to try, like the red chori curry...I've never made an adzuki bean curry before, so I'm pretty excited. I have a special weakness for Indian chutneys, so I was really pleased to see a whole section dedicated to them as well.

It is okay, but it would be helpful if some of the recipes were more descriptive. For example, when it calls for one onion, one does not know if that is a small, medium, or large one. That can make quite a difference in the recipe. Overall, though, we have found many delicious recipes to try and enjoy. Most of the ingredients have been readily available.

101 Gluten Free Indian Recipes written by Shelina Mann was very resourceful and detailed.I love tasting and learning about different cultures and foods. I like rather love Indian food but the spicy ingredient is not for me.I will start to prepare and test out some of these recipes. I like that the author was clear in her details of her cultures dishes.Good book

I love this book! The recipes aren't trying to substitute wheat with products that end up tasting like cardboard. These will be enjoyed for what they are. I especially enjoyed using millet flour, and the roti recipe is fantastic. Best find for me so far.

This book is amazing with the number of recipes it contains. From snacks to chutneys and sauces to soups and salads and main dishes and desserts it has it all. Being on a gluten free diet this book is going to be very useful for me to add variety into my cooking. Sweet rice with raisins and nuts is on the menu tonight! I recommend this to anyone who enjoys Indian cuisine or who is interested in gluten free dishes.

I LOVE Indian food and I am also gluten-free so this book is a god send. The recipes I have made so far have been amazing, I love paneer masala and chicken pakora from the starters section. The chicken coriander is soooo tasty and the range of dips and snack recipes in the book are excellent. This will be a book I will use A LOT - great addition to my kindle collection.

This is the most beautiful book I read to my children. The language is beautiful and very soothing. The illustrations make you feel the cold and the warm breath of the child. Interestingly, since I have daughters I always assumed the child was a girl. But if you look closely, it can be a boy or a girl. I keep a couple of copies of the book to give to new parents and my children have continued the tradition.

Gorgeous pictures and eloquent and beautiful writing. This is truly a book that parents will enjoy reading over and over as much as the kids do. We've bought this book a number of times to give a gift. We started reading it to our kids at age 2 and they are still engaged three years later.
