My three-year-old twins LOVE Paw Patrol so I decided to find them some books for their birthday. They are starting to get into the age where they aren't as rough on books and I was delighted to find some Paw Patrol Little Golden Books! Little Golden Books are just like I remember growing up with the thick, cardboard covers, bright and colorful paperback pages, complete with the gold binding. At approximately 6 1/2 inches by 8 inches, these books are also a great size for toddlers and even older children to hold.I read this to my twins and it was the perfect addition to their birthday presents! The story in this book is adapted from the episode entitled "Pups Turn On the Lights" (from the title page of the book) which we have not seen yet but I don't feel like we missed out on anything. Ryder, Katie, and the pups are planning a surprise birthday party for Chase when the lights go out. Suddenly, the Paw Patrol is needed to help restore power to Adventure Bay but they also need to finish planning Chase's surprise party. Can they get it all done without Chase knowing? You'll just have to read the book to find out!This book is a wonderful addition to our book collection and I love that the story is short enough so my kids won't get bored easily but long enough to actually tell a good tale. I think this book is appropriate for children of all ages because my kids love having books like this read to them and older Paw Patrol fans can practice reading this book themselves. Please note that this book does not contain Everest at all so if your Paw Patrol fan likes her the best, this book may be a little disappointing to them. I'm glad I found this before my twins' birthday because it was perfect and my kids love this book! I highly recommend this for any Paw Patrol fan!
I thought I was getting a 24-page children's tale about a little dog's birthday party - oh, how I was mistaken. "Puppy Birthday to You"! should be regarded as a central work of world literature and one of the finest artistic achievements of the past 1,000 years. Much like it's predecessors - "Ulysses", "Grapes of Wrath" or "War and Peace" the political underpinnings of this book demand that it be read multiple times and studied like one would study the Bible or other sacred texts. As critic Peter McPudgins put it in his 15 page long review of the book "... the conclusion of "Puppy Birthday to You" is an attempt to hedge the conflict between the individualistic perspective inherent in the bourgeois value system and the authoritarian hierarchy retained from traditional, paternalistic society".It is suggested by scholars that the "Birthday Party" is a metaphor for the United States freeing itself from foreign cultural domination in the 18th century. Others contend that a major theme is the importance of environment and upbringing in developing young people's character and morality - truly, both may be correct. Whatever your interpretation, by midway through the book (page 12) you will realize that Marshall, Chase and friends are up to something that goes a lot deeper than a simple birthday party."Puppy Birthday to You" is the seminal piece of literature of our time and should be required reading for all children and adults.
I ordered two of these. One for my son and one for his friend for their birthdays. The cover is upside down on both of them. I cannot give this as a gift now. What a waste of money.

Puppy Birthday to You is such a cute story! This was a must have for my son’s Paw Patrol themed Birthday! He just turned 3 and is CRAZY about Paw Patrol! He wants to read this story every night. On the back of the book there are other Paw Patrol stories that he points to and says “we need to get these stories too!â€The quality of the book is just like any other Little Golden book! Well binded, cardboard cover with paper pages. At 3 years old, my son still tears things up when left in his bedroom unsupervised. For that reason we keep this book where he can’t get to it. As long as we continue to do so, I expect this book to last many years!
