I guess it's the fact that I'm a few months out of grad school and already buying the new editions of previously required texts. Being current was nice while it lasted...

This book is a must have for learning assessment. It is easy to read, and easy to understand. In fact, when the authors broaches a topic that requires the use of a great deal of technical language, the authors give you fair warning, then direct you to another section to read and brush up on, so you can better understand the technical language they are about to present. I've never seen the WAIS IV discussed so clearly and eloquently.

It is a great book using it everyday in class it helps me to understand the assessment process. Thanks

It's hard to fairly review this book. My wife is a big fan of Chef AJ, and she was looking for an SOS (salt, oil, sugar) free cookbook. I got her this one thinking it was exactly what she was looking for, however this book was written in 2011, apparently prior to Chef AJ's adoption of a nut-free and lower-calorie style of cooking. The main section of recipes are desserts. Most of the recipes are either based on nuts, or dates. I'm sure they are fantastic, however they are not what my wife was looking for. Will probably return it as a result. Also recipe books should always include photos, which this one does not.

Chef A. J. is phenomenal and This book is worth every penny. Since the complainers are watching Chef A J, presumably on YouTube, then you must hear her when she instructs to either replace the nuts with white beans in the Unprocessed recipes or eliminate the addition of the nuts altogether. It's not difficult. This book contains health promoting recipes. We are all on different paths and arrive at different areas of information at differing times. For where she was information-wise, at the writing of Unprocessed, she wrote what she knew to be far healthier than the Standard American Diet or the Junk Food Vegan diet she had been on previously.

Read the book in several hours and set me on a path toward better health. Having been a vegetarian for almost a decade, I thought I was doing well, but now that I see how sugar, oil and fat are not included in a genuinely healthy diet because of the processing, I have thrown out most of my recipes and have adopted many of AJ's and John McDougall's. Once you whittle away the unnecessary things in your diet, whole foods taste amazing!

If you're at all familar with Chef AJ You Tube videos, this book was a repeat of information I already knew about her. Plus, it appears that she has changed her way of eating quite a bit since this book was published. There are several ingredients in her receipes that she does not allow now (assuming you want to lose weight - which I don't). If you are interested in losing weight now, buy her newer book that was just released. I will not buy it because I believe it will be a review of what I already know. She is an engaging personality and knows how to market herself and everyone else that she has on her webcasts. To say she is passionate about her diet, weight loss, health and in general the whole-food plant based, SOS-free lifestyle is an understatement ! For me, to eat her way 100% would take some joy out of my life; I do not want to live so rigidly, but I am not a food addict and am not overweight. I am vegan 95% of the time and I do not beat myself when I make other choices, like alcohol or sugar, or if there is an egg in that cake, etc. I find her a hoot to watch and listen to though.

Great read on Chef AJ with some tasty recipes. This book is prior to Chef AJ going deeper into achieving optimal health by removing fats from her diet. Her lifestyle plan is called Ultimate Weight Loss, which I strongly urge you to review, is helping me tremendously with the aches, pains and releasing extra fat while enjoying fresh foods.

Wonderful recipes that will be staples in our kitchen. I would have liked to have read more of Chef AJ's story and the WFPB philosophy. She is such a fun and vibrant personality. Even though we have access to unlimited recipes on line if you eat a plant based diet these recipes are flavorful and delicious and you don't have to adjust traditional recipes that rely on salt, oil and sugar for flavor.Unprocessed: How to achieve vibrant health and your ideal weight.

This book is AWESOME! I have loved the Golden Girls since I was a little girl! I knew exactly what time the re-runs aired on TV. Now I own all seven seasons and this wonderful book! A must-have for Golden Girls fans of all ages!!

Fantastic hardcover tome! It's a heavy (in a great way) coffee table book and extremely detailed. It's over 350 glossy full colored pages. I highly recommend this book! It even has a fitting cover underneath the jacket. I would highly recommend buying this brand new if you are a collector.

As a huge "Golden Girls" fan, I loved this book - a superb job done by the author so evidently a loving fan himself. My only gripe with it is that while it extensively covers the series and related cultural spin-offs (fan artwork, stage tribute shows, connections to other latter Tv series etc) it fails to acknowledge the actual official spin-off itself "The Golden Palace" aside from the odd aside and negative swipe (the author is obviously not a fan of it) - considering it was the continuation of the original series and featured three of the main Girls (all four with Bea Arthur's appearance in two of its episodes) it definitely should have been included. Also, while key "Golden Girls" episodes ARE covered in great detail, a full listing of all episodes would have been nice. Otherwise, a great job done and a great book to own and enjoy over and over again.

FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!! I love the Golden Girls Hit Television series, and this book is perfect for a huge fan like myself!! First of all, it's beautiful........the colorful cover is eye-catching, and makes an interesting coffee table item. The pages are full of high-quality,colorful pictures which correspond with the information in the associated text. The author, Mr. Colucci has spent lots of time gathering information, and lot's of fun trivia facts for his book! If you enjoy an in-depth, behind the scenes look into one the best, funniest, well-written television sit-coms, you MUST have this book!! Although three of the "girls" are gone now, I'm sure they would be so pleased with this book! Thank you Mr. Colucci for producing such a wonderful book.

I have been a fan of The Golden Girls for many years, and I am so happy that there is finally a book that has trivia and facts about the show, and interviews with the cast, crew, and guest stars.My favorite character is Sophia because I love her stories about Sicily, wisecracks, and her hilarious jokes!

This book is one great slice of Cheesecake... It has lots of great pictures that have not been seen before. A lot of guest stars memories and stories behind the story lines of each episode, some more then others. Overall just a great read and a good coffee table book to pick up and read for those that love the Golden Girls

My book arrived today! I am 39 years old and almost everynight I watch a episode or two before bed. I find the show to be very comforting and very funny! This book was well worth the buy for a true fan. It goes through every episode and there are pictures and commentary from the main four actresses about each episode. You learn tidbits about who actually ate the cheesecake and who hated it to the real names of the guest stars on the show and more!

This book is a wonderful combination of a deep, almost scholarly dive into a cultural phenomenon, and a heartfelt mash note to the beloved show and its fans. About the Author

Kathy Keller was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and attended Allegheny College. She graduated from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in 1975 with her MA in Theological Studies. She and her husband, Tim, married one semester before graduation. West Hopewell Presbyterian Church in Hopewell, Virginia, extended a call for Tim to be a three-month interim pastor while they searched for someone more experienced. Nine years and three sons later, the Kellers moved to Philadelphia, where Tim taught at Westminster Theological Seminary and Kathy began work as an editor at Great Commission Publications. In 1989 they moved to Manhattan to plant Redeemer Presbyterian Church. As staff were added, Kathy focused on the Communication Committee. She is now the Assistant Director of Communication and Media and the editor at Redeemer. She also writes and speaks along with Tim. Their three sons are grown and married, and producing amazing grandchildren. They and their families are all members of Redeemer.

I went into reading this book prepared to disagree with it at every turn. As a woman who is gifted and called to lead in the context of the local church, and as a believer who holds to a high view of scripture, this issue has been a difficult and personal one to navigate.I am uncomfortable calling myself an egalitarian because I do believe that gender differences (and the roles associated with them) are part of the Divine design revealing the fullness of God's glory. However, in most overtly complementarian books and congregations that I have read/experienced, the expression of the gifts and calling on the female half of the church are so limited and constricting that "equal but different" seems suspiciously akin to the "separate but equal" mantra of the Jim Crow era.However, I was surprised and delighted by Keller's nuanced articulation of her viewpoint. In this book she affirms the call on women to lead and and even to speak in the general gathering within certain boundaries. At the same time, she calls the believer to uncompromising obedience to the scriptures in the most faithful way possible in our present age.Keller does a superb job of defending her hermeneutical method and theological stance on this issue in an intellectually rigorous and emotionally safe tone. She speaks as one who has stood on both sides of the debate and can speak authentically from both perspectives.The reason I gave this an "almost perfect" four stars is because I wish she had given more attention the second half of her book, which seemed intended to focus the personal experiences of women who have found themselves walking in the tension between a strong sense of personal calling and a high view of scripture and what it means to be faithful to the truths therein. I wish she had given as much attention and devotion to showing us -- modeling -- what some journeys might look like. It seems as if that was her original intent but it just didn't happen.In her bibliographical notes at the end of her book, Keller rightly advises that one author with egalitarian leanings would have made his argument more persuasive by adding theological exegesis to support the already compelling stories of abuse and mistreatment in the name "biblical complementarianism." The audience he wishes to address will not be swayed by experience and empathy, but by theological and hermeneutical rigor.In the same vein, the audience Keller wishes to address will not be swayed by water tight hermeneutics and theological rigor alone, but by story, personal experience, and empathy. I hoped to find a robust combination of both in the book, but it fell just short.All in all I do strongly recommend this book for addressing this issue in a compassionate, theologically sound way that remains faithful to a high view of scripture.

While avoiding circular or exclusively dogmatic arguments, Mrs. Keller engages the two primary scriptures that have been used to limit the public ministry of women in the ChurchThose dogmatically opposed to women preachers/teachers are unlikely to be moved from their positions (by anything, especially this book). Those own to the possibility may not be fully convinced to accept the conclusion, but they will at least have encountered a thoughtful and Biblically literate handling of the issue, devoid of circular reason or "tricks" of interpretation.This is an important matter for the Church to get right, and Mrs. Keller's contribution is substantial and significant.

A case for gender role ministries can be a topic that is sensitive in most growing churches. Is the word relevant for today? Corinthians 14:34 is addressed where women are to keep quiet in the church. Is this fair? Is this justice? Ms. Keller starts her short book with basic bible study 101. What does the word say? What is the context? and the why. I liked how she brought out the justice of this verse and made it very real for me. Do I believe that God is just. Do I believe in the goodness of God in this verse. The justice is the strengthening of the church for the whole body. Is Jesus the authority of the church. Ms. Keller also brings out how the Lord himself valued the women in his life. Can we trust his word any less. Another point that was brought out is our calling verses our roles in ministry. We need to get back to the basic of our God-given roles that male and female compliment each other, not compete with each other. We remain true to God's design for our roles, our callings will be used for His Glory. Is that not what the church is meant for?

Kathy Keller's contribution to this discussion challenged me, and, I believe, will challenge people coming from various different perspectives as they address this issue exegetically and theologically. On a detailed note, I am not fully convinced that "teaching or exercising authority" is, in fact, an hendiadys, and much of her argument may hinge on this point. Nevertheless, there is something compelling about the direction in which she points, given all the evidence she presents. I believe I will continue to reflect on her perspective for some time to come, which alone makes this quick read well worth while. Furthermore, I found her treatment inspiring me to anticipate the promise that lies ahead for us in being Biblically faithful and getting these questions right so that the gifts of all God's people, male and female, may be deployed faithfully for his honor and glory.

Just the right amount of direction I needed to help me verbalize what I know is true. Just because you don't like what God is saying, doesn't mean it isn't true or good for the whole body of Christ. I appreciated the clarification on ordained elder/pastor teaching VS. non-ordained male/female teaching within the church.Thanks for great work, Mrs. Keller.

Kathy has clearly done some high quality study and research in putting together this book. Gave me all sorts of new insights, and does a good job of not just giving opinions but rather taking an objective look at the context of scripture to discern its intent. Her work is very thorough. She also shows a great deal of understanding and compassion towards people on all points of the spectrum, and taking the time to speak lovingly to all.
