If you are a serious student of the Battle of Little Big Horn, the Campaign of 1876, George Custer, the 7th Cavalry, or the Indian Wars generally this is an essential book. Biographies, statistics , descriptions of almost every imaginable aspect of the battle and the participants. I have only had my copy for several weeks and I refer to it constantly. Highly recommended. To understate it- an important contribution to the study of the battle.

If you are to study the events in Montana of June, 1876 concerning the fights on and near the Little Horn River there are a few essential, basic references; the transcripts of the Reno Court of Inquiry, good maps both historic and current and Participants in The Battle of the Little Big Horn. The last because of all things this was an uncertain affair conducted by a host of players and related later with varying consistency by many of them and "you can't tell the players without a program." This work won't give you opinion, it will give you facts with which you can begin to form your own.

I can't figure out the nasty reviews of this book (by same person?) as they just don't fit with the book itself. This is a splendid book by an acknowledged and respected expert on the battle, the events leading up to it, and the aftermath. IMO no serious student of the battle on the Greasy Grass should be without it. I only have the 1st edition so far but will soon add the second edition as I can't wait to delve into the new material.

The ultimate resource for the Battle of the Little Big Horn. Mr Wagner has compiled an unbelievable list of known participants of this conflict. I especially enjoyed the bios of individual braves and the various spellings and interpretations of their names. He has extensively researched this matter and has presented the material in an easily understood fashion that is user friendly. I have spent several hours studying this book in depth and have acquired a vast amount of knowledge.I appreciate the author spending the time and research required for this invaluable resource for any student of this American conflict. This is a must have for any serious student of the Little Big Horn.

As others have said most of his information is from other books so why not buy a professional writers works instead of this copy cut and paste Pygmalion and thank heavens I took anothers advice and rented this dud from a library and if this tripe is the future of literature the world is in a sad state .

I was kind of expecting a bit more than what the book offered. I saw the book, author on The 700 Club. I thought it would give more information than it did. It gave a historical background on Hitler and then it went into abortion of now. I found better offerings in the book Hitler's Cross by Erwin Lutzer.

In this last book in the series, I was so captured by all that was happening and how it all ended that I had to take a few day to just let it sink into my soul!Sara Ella has written a FANTASTIC series and I've loved every single book!This last book really gets to the heart of it all. We are confronted with the thought that in all of us there is the chance for light and darkness to reside. It's what we allow to be the most present which truly matters.I was on team Joshua for most of the series, and yet in the end I was pulling for Ky. I saw how Ky really did have a deep love for Em, and how he was willing to do what was best for her. Now, I'm not saying I didn't see the good in Joshua. In the end I could see his love for Eliyana, but in a different way.There were a few surprised along the way that I didn't see coming!Wow, Sara Ella truly is a skilled author! The words and descriptions of each reflection level is so GOOD. I could truly picture it all in my head. This world is so fun to think about. Now I go around wondering if there's a wormhole or threshold near by. Or if a person is really a shadowwalker. You never know!This book (and whole series) is packed full of action, suspense, drama, with bits of humor and also bits of sweet love.I highly highly recommend you read this book! It will keep you up way past you bedtime!

Sara Ella wove a beautiful story of good vs evil, compassion and mercy, kindness, and sacrificial love.Sara Ella- I hope you're working on another story. You've made it to my favorite authors list!

I admit I'm always hesitant about reading the last book of a series I love. The endings don't always turn out as I expect. Sometimes that's a good thing. There are so many twists in the final chapter of The Unblemished trilogy. But it was everything I feared, everything I hoped for, and everything I wanted. It was the perfect ending to the story of characters I dearly love.

Great ending to the series. I liked how things came full circle. At times, I could tell I was reading YA but it was a story that was good for all ages.

Another beautiful story in this series. It's an amazing read with characters I love. Well done.

The characters, the story, the subplots, everything comes so full circle, even the circles have circle. Am I rambling? Well, go read the book and you'll understand why I ramble!My heart ached for Eliyana, Ky, and Joshua. I kept wanting to tell Eliyana what was true and false, but alas she couldn't hear me. *sigh* I longed for El and Ky to be reunited, and when that sweet moment finally arrived, all. the. feels. I also loved the additional perspective of Ebony! A character I originally hated became one of my favorites.And I'm still #TeamKy for Eliyana, but I'm also for a #happyendingforjoshua. Always. <3 So I'm #TeamJoshua, too. I love both boys. LOL! My heart ached doubly for Joshua. However, I understand why Sara Ella took the direction she did, and I applaud her for it. Truly, a wonderfully written, almost poetic, look back at the Ferrari-Ford wars of the ‘60s. While the writing is flawless, the same can’t be said for the research . All the major players (make that suits) are mentioned. Three names are notably missing, all engineers: Klaus Arning, Ed Hull and Chuck Carrig. Klaus Arning was largely responsible for the design of the suspension on the Ford GT40 (and Cobra II, and Foyt’s Coyote Indy cars). Ed Hull was the engineer who designed the Ford J-Car which morphed into the Ford Mark IV that won the 1967 Le Mans race. Chuck Carrig was the computer program whiz responsible for design and development of Detroit’s first computer program to calculate suspension geometry, which greatly assisted Klaus Arning in the design of his unique anti-squat/anti-dive suspension of the GT40, in what was a rush job to make the 1964 Le Mans endurance race. The use of a computer as a part of chassis design is mentioned on page 89 (but without crediting the engineers behind the programing).The expression “Go Like Hell” that the author has chosen for the title of this book, while not copyrighted and very much part of the public domain, is used several times in my novel “The Ragged Edge” (published in 1999). The first time I heard it was while listening in to the cockpit chatter of a Chicago-LA flight I happened to be on. The plane had just cleared Chicago airspace and I heard the captain say, in response to the control tower, "time to 'Go like hell.'" I liked the phrase so much I used it to described the impatience of race driver John Wagner, the protagonist of my novel. He loathed standing still and needed to always “go like hell,” whether on the track or, at, the end of book, en route to Chicago, to win back his ex-girlfriend, who had walked out on him. The plane he’s on over L.A. seems to hover in the sky, making Wagner uneasy. “Go like hell” he says under his breath. When he feels the jet thrust come on, forcing him back into his passenger seat, he feels better. — author Richard Nisley.

For people addicted to the car disease this is one super book. I thought I was pretty tuned in back when Hank Deuce decided to go for Ferrari's jugular. But this book revealed all kinds of stuff I missed-- big and little. Big stuff, like the fact that Enzo Ferrari had an illegitimate son. Little stuff like Bruce McClaren having one leg shorter than the other. Also a detailed description of Carroll Shelby's Cobra and Mustang GT350 operation at Los Angeles airport. And a lot of new info on Ken Miles-- one of my heroes because of his MG Specials. And so much more. I worked for an ad agency on Wilshire Blvd. in L.A. in the mid-'60s and would drive my MG TC home to Redondo Beach on Pacific Coast Highway every night for two reasons: 1. To hear the car's neat exhaust sound in the tunnel under LAX's runway. 2. To drive past the parking lot for Shelby's operation to see row after row of finished Cobras and GT350s. And I would covet them! Big time! Please don't tell God. Weekends were spent at Riverside, Goleta, Laguna Seca and other tracks watching names in this book race. I didn't give Mr. Baime's book Arsenal of Democracy" a very good review because, unlike this Ford/Ferrari book, I didn't really learn anything new. Maybe that's because I've read a lot about Ford in the last 60 years. But Go Like Hell is really one helluva book so go like hell to order it.

I'm a huge auto racing fan. I'll get that out right away. However, it takes an excellent and accomplished writer to be able to bring excitement to the reader, while at the same time, relating non-fiction that is both relevant and factual. A.J. Baime has done just that! Awesome to learn so much about both Enzo Ferrari and Henry Ford II in the same book. My gosh, John Surtees, John Miles, and Carroll Shelby are all new heroes of mine!! Get this straight, if you like sports cars, intrigue and action, and exciting reading that relates historical fact in a very readable fashion, you'll love this book!

Great little book! The writer, who I've spoken with regarding something my mother spotted in the story; that being a certain man had come from Aston Martin - where my mother was John Wyer's secretary from 1949-56 - this man didn't do any of the things he claimed. My mum knew JW very well, and the likes of many of these drivers.... She took care of this guy named Shelby when he arrived at Aston's in 1954, and my dad took care of the DB3S that Carroll drove in both local UK events and LeMans 54. Never being a FORD fan, the GT40 was only a Ford in name because they paid the bill... and supplied the Engine. These first cars were all designed and built in England. What they did was great, the amount of $ spend was million times more than "great", whereas the politics and Board of Directors was typical Ford MoCo nonsense.... Phil Hill was booted from team, only to be a HUGE thorn in Henry II side when Phil showed up at LeMans in Jim Halls Chaparrel! It's a good read, and if you're from my era you'll know these drivers names... I knew many of them, some came to lunch on off-Sundays like Ritchie. Now they are all gone... I remember when my dad passed away 5+ yrs ago, Shelby called mum, mum said "I have no one to talk to now" Carroll said, "you can talk to me!" And they talked regularly.... almost til the day he went. Great men, great cars, great racing!

I loved this book! My only wish was that it were longer. I hated to see it end. As a teen I followed every Sebring, Daytona and Le Mans race that the author recounts. I lived and breathed car racing in that era, especially the Ford versus Ferrari rivalry. I was also living in Rome, Italy at the time, and the Le Mans race was broadcast on the radio. My friends and I actually listened as the Fords finally won.To this day the GT 40 is my favorite racing car of all time. This book was written just for me and I read it in one sitting. What a great story, and what great research has gone into this book. As others have pointed out the Ford Mark IV end story is short and the book coverage of the next two Le Mans victories is also short -- as they were by older Ford GT 40s and not the Mark IV. But that's small stuff. Go like Hell is a wild ride!

Most if this book seriously confused me. I am a feminist but some of the characters demonizing men just made me want to stop read. The constant debate about men vs women in almost every conversation every interaction was just too much for me. I'm not sure if I want to read the next book. I had to skip through large portions of this book to get through it because at times there was just too much explaining the descriptions of scenes too length like describing a leaf falling and how it crunched or made sounds when it hit the ground. I gave it 3 star because over all it wasn't a bad book.

There was a good, solid, nugget of a story here. But I almost put it down and quit reading because the feminist diatribe was so overwhelming. And that's saying a lot, because I tend to agree with all that feminist diatribe. I just don't need to be lectured about it. The lectures were so annoying, that for a hot second I imagined myself voting Republican just to be oppositional.But I was forewarned by other reviewers, so I skimmed the lectures and powered through to the dark and stormy night when the plot actually takes off. Now, the real action starts at a stereotypical hippy-dippy drum-circle party. And that was annoying too. But a few pages further and the author quit "telling" and started "showing" and the story revealed itself incrementally.And then it was good. The werewolves begged some questions (like, why can't they smell other werewolves?), but it's fine with me that I didn't get all the answers I wanted. The story was alright, and the plot was pretty solid. I was as invested in Lexie's angst over her missing mother as I was in the romantic plot.I would have liked more nuance in the moral value system. I really don't care that they kill rapists. But I wondered why killing a rapist is murder, but killing a werewolf isn't? If a werewolf attacks a woman, then the werewolf is hunted down and killed. But if a human male attacks a woman... killing him is murder? What's the difference? I wanted to examine the shades of morality a little closer, instead of treating it as so black and white.I also wanted more details on werewolf hunting. Perhaps if the lectures were shorter and I had more pages of them actually doing stuff (the whole "show" don't "tell" thing again).Anyway, when all is said and done, I don't regret buying this book. It holds up favorably against other lesbian werewolf novels. I guess the true test is whether I would read the sequel. And...I would read it. I just wouldn't buy it... Not new, anyway. If I can read it for free, or for cheap, I'll check out the sequel. But the author has got to stop it with the heavy-handed lectures if she wants me to pay full price for her books.

Before the night's over, she's heard a lot, and she's even kissed a girl.Before too long, Lexie finds herself involved with an older woman--a hell of a lot older, it turns out--and she has embraced her newfound sexuality most enthusiastically.There's always talk of werewolves, though. There is a breed called the Rare wolf that is especially lethal. They can turn even when it's not full moon. Indeed, The Pack is devoted to eradicating them. What they do is lure a Rare wolf into a situation where he gets excited and starts to turn, then they subdue him, take him to a secret cave, force him to turn completely, then kill him. Lexie runs away from her first hunt; she couldn't stand to see the violence against an apparent human.Lexie settles into her passionate relationship with Archer, a woman who lives in an isolated cabin deep in the woods. Lexie learns more and more about the forest, as well as a whole damn lot about sex. In time, she learns more about Archer's true nature, as well as her own.One weekend, three obnoxious frat-boys are killed during a camping trip. The carnage was definitely lycanthropic in nature, and Lexie is surprised when she discovers the killer's identity. It leads to a conflict between her lover and her friends in The Pack. Everyone involved has secrets. In the process, Lexie finds strength and wisdom within herself, and makes some difficult decisions.I really liked this book. The story kept me hooked from early-on till the final page. What's weird, though, is that I wasn't necessarily in a rush to figure out the book's secrets. I was satisfied enough with the story at each stage, that I could enjoy the ride, knowing the answers would come.Lexie does a lot of growing-up in her first semester, far more than simply losing her virginity. When she was moving to college, her goal was to be bold and say "YES" when presented with a new opportunity. It takes her some practice to get used to saying "yes," but she does. In the end, she learns that sometimes "no" is the more difficult answer, especially when her answer means she and others will be hurt.Some of the reviews I read of "Lunatic Fringe" complained that the novel is basically a treatise on feminism. It isn't. Nearly all of the "feminism" arises as part of conversations Lexie has with members of The Pack. The Pack members are feminists, some of them ardently so, so it only makes sense that they would discuss the topic, especially with a newbie. The same thing would happen with sports fans, xenophiles, Young Republicans, or any other group. We talk about things that are important to us. Some friends and I have in-depth discussions about classic baseball that would bore the crap out of non-fans. Yes, there are some anti-phallocentrism rants in the book, but they occur organically in characters' dialogue, not as an unwelcome interruption to the story. (Tom Robbins used to do this a lot)The story is well-told, and the werewolf/Rare wolf lore seeps through the whole book, rather than being something Lexie discovers only after some grisly murder. "Lunatic Fringe" isn't set up like a typical horror novel or movie. There's no "Holy crap! There are werewolves!!!" moment. Lexie has been aware of the lore her whole life. Her connection to it...that part she has to learn.I admit, some part of me picked this book, thinking "LESBIAN WEREWOLVES?? Awesome!" That was such a seemingly odd pairing, that I couldn't resist reading this book.The beautiful surprise was that "Lunatic Fringe" turned out to be an intelligent, thoughtful, well-rendered book, regardless of its subject matter. (Although Lesbian Werewolves really ARE mighty badass)

Iain Haley Pollock's second collection of poems, Ghost, Like a Place, is forthcoming from Alice James Books in September 2018. His debut collection, Spit Back a Boy, won the 2010 Cave Canem Poetry Prize. He teaches English at Rye Country Day School in Rye, NY, and is a member of the poetry faculty at the Solstice MFA program of Pine Manor College.
